As a general contractor, JEH built a number of houses and apartment buildings in the Denver area. This house was one of his last projects and was built as a home for himself and his family as he and his wife, Minnie, raised their young grandson. The house has been lovingly maintained through the years as a single-family home, with some thoughtful additions including updated plumbing and electrical, and an expansion at the back of the house to allow for a modern kitchen/breakfast nook and primary bathroom upstairs.
